Building an online business can be an exciting and rewarding venture. Here are some steps to help you get started:

1. Identify your niche: Determine the market or industry you want to target. Research potential competitors, identify gaps in the market, and find a unique value proposition that sets your business apart.

2. Define your target audience: Understand your ideal customers and their needs. Create buyer personas to help you tailor your marketing efforts and product/service offerings to their specific requirements.

3. Choose a business model: Decide how you will generate revenue online. Some common business models include e-commerce (selling physical products), digital products (e-books, online courses), software as a service (SaaS), affiliate marketing, or advertising-based revenue.

4. Develop a business plan: Outline your business goals, strategies, and financial projections. A solid business plan will help you stay focused and provide a roadmap for growth.

5. Register your domain name: Choose a domain name that aligns with your brand and is easy to remember. Register the domain through a reputable provider.

6. Build a professional website: Your website is the foundation of your online business. Invest in a user-friendly and visually appealing website that reflects your brand identity. Include clear navigation, high-quality content, and compelling calls to action.

7. Set up e-commerce capabilities: If you’re selling products online, integrate an e-commerce platform into your website. Choose a secure and reliable payment gateway to process transactions.

8. Create engaging content: Develop a content marketing strategy to attract and engage your target audience. Regularly create valuable and shareable content through blog posts, videos, podcasts, or social media.

9. Drive traffic to your website: Implement various marketing strategies to increase visibility and drive traffic to your website. This can include search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, email marketing, paid advertising, influencer collaborations, or content partnerships.

10. Optimize for conversions: Once you have visitors on your website, focus on converting them into customers. Use persuasive copy, effective CTAs, and a seamless user experience to guide visitors through the sales funnel.

11. Provide excellent customer service: Building strong relationships with your customers is crucial for long-term success. Offer prompt and helpful customer support, listen to feedback, and continuously improve your products or services.

12. Analyze and refine: Regularly analyze your website’s performance, traffic sources, conversion rates, and customer behavior. Use this data to make informed decisions, optimize your strategies, and refine your online business.

Remember, building an online business takes time and effort. Stay committed, adapt to changes, and continuously learn and improve. Surround yourself with a supportive network, seek guidance when needed, and never be afraid to try new approaches. Good luck with your online business!

We are all born into this world with a clean slate. The same unlimited potential. Yet, when we get to the end, it may seem that some have been gifted with more potential than others.

The only reason this happens is that as we go through our journey of life, we create boundaries and limitations on ourselves. Most of these began way back as a young child when we were sponges, eager and hungry to absorb information of the world around us, and also that of the world beyond us.

We relied initially on our parents, our siblings and our close family, and then expanded to our friends and teachers, and later through relationships at work .During these crucial developmental stages, we were ultimately imprinted with the beliefs and values of these people, and predominantly based most of our beliefs and values on these foundations. Unfortunately, as young children we were sometimes told “You’re not smart!”, “You’ll never be good at anything!”, “You’re a loser!”, and so on…..and this stuff sticks. When these words come from people we respect and trust, we then believe it. And when these types of beliefs are carried through life, our confidence, self-esteem, and potential diminish.

So if you are at a point on your journey that you feel you can do more, or be more, what can you do about it? A few simple things you can do to alter your thinking, and ultimately unlock your real potential, are these.

1/ Accept Where You Are

By knowing where your life is at, and accepting you are exactly where you are meant to be, you are able to create a vision of moving forward. If you feel life owes you for your past, you are going to wait for it to be given to you. And that could take a very long time. Sure, some events might not have been fair, some may have hurt, and some may have been wrong, but if you hold on to them, and more specifically the emotions attached to them, then they will keep you exactly where you are now. You must accept where you are right now, and make a decision to change.

“If you argue for your limitations, you get to keep them” – Richard Bach

2/ Grow Your Mindset

Those that live with a Fixed Mindset believe that their personality, their potential, and their intelligence are all framed and determined at birth, whilst those that live with a Growth Mindset believe that their personality, potential, and intelligence can be improved. They believe that we are all born with a ‘clean slate’, and every person on this planet can be whatever they choose to be. They decide to improve their life situation by learning, applying themselves, and by failing. You need to recognize these two mindsets and ensure you have a Growth Mindset. If you find your mindset is Fixed, it is essential you make a decision to change it.

3/ Create A Picture

If you want to make changes, you need to know what it is you want. What is your real potential? What does it look like? What are you doing in the picture? Hear the sounds, feel the feelings. If you don’t visualise your outcome, you will have no idea what you are aiming at, and you will keep hitting nothing. Be very precise what it is. It doesn’t matter what that picture is right now, as it can (and will) change over time. The important things is that you have something to begin with.

4/ Believe You Can

As I mentioned at the beginning, many of our beliefs were imprinted when we were children. We learnt them. And we can equally ‘unlearn’ them if we choose. And from there, new beliefs can be formed. When we do this, our unconscious mind will work with them (that’s what it does with our beliefs) to help create outcomes that will be consistent to them. Now, you will come across people who are going to judge you and criticise you, and will do what they can to ‘cut you down’, and that is ok. They don’t have the same beliefs as you, and nor do they see the same picture as you. So stay focused on your path without stepping on to theirs.

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right” – Henry Ford

5/ No Excuses

If you make a decision to change, then stick with it. Change can be hard, especially when doing things you have never done before. It means creating new habits that will, at times, be uncomfortable. Every night, plan your next day. What do you need to get done, and how are you going to do it? The least amount of surprises you have each day is going to help stop you from getting side-tracked. Go into each day with a 100% attitude. 99% is making room for an excuse.

The Bottom Line

Making change can often be hard, but as long as you make a decision to change you will be on your way. Choose to learn. Change to a positive internal language. Embrace the challenges along the way. Be motivated by the setbacks. And if you need some support, then get it. Get a coach, a mentor, and/or a good friend that you can lean on and bounce things off, and also to keep you accountable.

Some believe we are here for a reason, a specific purpose, whilst others believe we are here just because we are, and with no set agenda. Wherever you fit on that scale is fine, and regardless of where that is, strive to be the best version of you that you can possibly be…..that is living to your real potential.

Reprogramming The Unconscious Mind https://hamishbayston.com/reprogramming-the-unconscious-mind/ https://hamishbayston.com/reprogramming-the-unconscious-mind/#comments Thu, 24 Nov 2016 10:12:02 +0000 http://stage.aimcoachingschool.com/?p=340 Some say your unconscious mind controls up to 80% or your every day life.

Some say your unconscious mind controls up to 80% or your every day life. Not only your breathing and heart beating, but your habits, your thought pattens, your belief systems and your values. The way we react or respond to things, feelings, urges, addictions, anxieties, conflicts and concepts.
The other 20%, the conscious mind, is where we find the things we are aware of, in part, our thoughts, feelings, sensations and memories. It is our ‘awareness’ of these things that bring it to our ‘consciousness’.

This part of the mind has the ability to accept or reject thoughts and ideas.

As much as we like to think we have ‘conscious’ control of these thoughts and our accepting or rejecting of ideas, even this process is largely controlled by the values and belief systems that sit within our unconscious.

Understanding this with our conscious mind can allow us to make ‘informed’ decisions. Decisions on how far we ‘choose’ to unravel the mystery of our own unconsciousness.
The unconscious mind, has no ability to decide or differentiate, it accepts obediently what is turned over to it, be it good, bad, healthy or unhealthy. As our conscious mind is largely intertwined with our unconscious, we often find ourselves in repetitive cycles.

We take an X type idea, it becomes an X type thought and it brings about an X type behaviour – a habit. But what if we recognised that X type behaviour didn’t serve us well, that it wasn’t good for us? What if we thought of a Y type idea… a positive, more productive idea?
We attempt to turn this new Y type idea over to our unconscious, but it conflicts with our X type, well established habits! We look around us and we still see X type results. This can create an uncomfortable feeling and our unconscious mind, either with our without our conscious awareness, will do what it can to bring us back to our known X type patterns (also known as psycho cybernetics).

But what if there was a way to bypass the conscious mind?

What if we could just go directly to the unconscious mind and change the X type processes that are bringing about the unwanted X type results?

With NLP, as the name suggests, it is using the language of the brain to reprogram theunconscious quickly and immediately with the new desired thought processes. There are tools and techniques which have been developed and refined over many years with a deep understanding of how the unconscious mind works. These tools can be instrumental in bringing to your life the positive results you have been striving for, but have until now, struggled to achieve.

When you think of what you are passionate about, what comes to mind?

It may be chocolate, football, fishing, cooking, or many other similar things.

But what about a truly meaningful passion? Something that really ignites you at your core.

1/ What Am I Really Passionate About?

When you think about passion in a global context, a context of making a difference to others, and more so to our planet, what is it? What would you do if there was nothing holding you back, or getting in your way? If money was no concern, and the judgement of others was totally irrelevant.

This is what drives individuals to their greatness.

2/ How Can My Passion Help Others?

If you came up with a compelling answer above, then what could you do with it to add value to, and benefit the lives of others? You may get involved in volunteer work within your local community. Or maybe join a National or International movement in human rights, animal protection or landcare.

3/ Can I Create Something From My Passion?

Is your passion something you can turn into a business? If your ‘Why’ was driven by your passion, and the value you gave to others was something they knew they must have, then what could be your potential?  Think of what it is you are passionate about, and picture yourself 1 year, 5 years, or even 10 years from now having successfully achieved what you have built around it. What would you need to do to achieve it? What is the one thing you would need to do to start?

4/ What Legacy Can I Leave

One of the biggest impacts we can have from our time on this planet is to leave a legacy to others to continue to benefit from when we are gone. This could simply be something we have gifted to our children, or some considerable change we have made to society or the world. Whatever it is, it will be a result of your passion and what you have done with it.

An example I would like to share, is that of a friend of mine whose passion is to have a World with no war. Yep, this is huge. Is it possible? I believe so, and so does he. And that is why he is taking action to make it real. He will most likely not see the goal achieved in his lifetime, but he can certainly create a compelling message, and build up enough momentum with like minded people whom he can leave it to when he is gone. Please feel free to look at his passion and vision here.

How many times have you thought of doing something different?

Doing something you have never done before to achieve an outcome that you really desire?

Something that could make a significant difference in your life.

But when you start to think about how you are going to do it, you freeze. All the “What …..?” questions kick in.

“What if I fail?”

“What will it cost me? Financially, Emotionally, Time….”

“What will others think of me?”

“What will I become?

So you throw the idea into the “Another Lost Dream” basket, and stay right where you are.

“Whew…..That was scary. But I’m safe again now!”

Be warned…..This is your Comfort Zone.

What Happens In My Comfort Zone?

Well, you certainly won’t be alone. This is where about 90% of the population hang-out. Including all the Naysayers who were going to judge you, and tell you “You couldn’t do that….Don’t be stupid!”.

If you stay here, you will just be ‘Getting By’ in life. You will continue to settle for less. You will have fear when opportunities come up. You may even experience varying levels of depression.

You may well tell yourself, “If most people live here, then it must be the safest place to be!”

That’s fine if that’s the life you choose. Stop reading now and get on with it.

How Do I Get Out Of My Comfort Zone?

Simple. You make a choice. Like those that stopped reading at the last paragraph (but in the other direction). First, choose NOT to live within the boundaries of your Comfort Zone. Second, choose what it is you DO WANT instead.

What are the outcomes you desire? The specific goals.

Plan the steps to achieve these goals, then start to take MASSIVE ACTION.

Again, sounds simple. But it won’t be. You are going to be doing things you have never done before, and this is certain, as you will be getting things you have never had before. There may well be risk, and there will definitely be fear.

This I could talk about for a very long time. But I won’t keep you here long.

You have 2 two choices:

1/ Do it alone. If you believe you can……..Then go for it.

2/ Get Coached. Nearly all successful people have a coach. To get rid of any blocks. To manage the fear. To set a clear path. To be held accountable. And to get support. Their results are proof.

What Happens On The Other Side Of My Comfort Zone?

This is where the Magic happens. You have probably heard that before, but it is true.

You will find things in you that you never knew you had, nor ever dreamed were possible. You will find courage, confidence, and fulfilment….among others.

Depending on what you chose to do to get here, you may find wealth, financial freedom and a lifestyle you have always wanted.

This is where your dreams become a reality.

What will you choose to get here?

4 Keys To Jumping Those Hurdles And Getting Things Done Each Day https://hamishbayston.com/4-keys-to-jumping-those-hurdles-and-getting-things-done-each-day/ https://hamishbayston.com/4-keys-to-jumping-those-hurdles-and-getting-things-done-each-day/#respond Tue, 22 Nov 2016 06:40:38 +0000 http://stage.aimcoachingschool.com/?p=279 Do you have 'those things' that must get done each day, but when you think about them you just keep putting them off?

The post 4 Keys To Jumping Those Hurdles And Getting Things Done Each Day appeared first on Hamish Bayston.

]]>
Do you have ‘those things’ that must get done each day, but when you think about them you just keep putting them off?

Maybe they overwhelm you and you don’t know where to start with it. Maybe you just don’t like what it is or how to do it. You may even be afraid of not doing it right.

Ask yourself, “What will happen if I take action and complete the task?”. And equally, “What will happen if I don’t complete it?”.

If you have your own business, not getting these things done could be the difference between your success and your failure.

So how do you overcome the barriers, and jump those hurdles to get them done?

1/ Know What It Is You Need To Complete

It may be a ‘Cold Call’ to a prospective client, or introducing yourself to a whole new market. Maybe it is a follow up call with a client you have not been wanting to do, or you may be in a position where you have to terminate an employee.

All these things can bring fear, and that will often detour you away from getting it done, and your internal conversations will keep the detour signs coming.

Be clear of the task….exactly how it needs to be executed….and the results you will get when it is done.

2/ Plan It Into Your Day

When you go to bed, plan your next day.

Picture your day being exactly as you want it to be. It may include ‘that’ phone call you have kept putting off because you have been unsure of the outcome. Picture the outcome you DO WANT. If you focus on what you don’t want, then what do you think you will get?

See yourself getting the task done, with the result you want, and how good the rest of the day is around it.

3/ Do It First….No Excuses

If this task is the worst thing you need to do all day, then DO IT FIRST. And guess what, everything else throughout your day is going to be easier and more enjoyable.

When you plan this the night before, be totally committed to doing it….100% committed. You will feel more empowered and motivated to step straight into it.

If you are 99% or less, then you will make excuses and not do it. “Maybe I will do it after a coffee and Facebook!”. If you start this language….it won’t stop.

So NO EXCUSES….Just Do It..!

4/ Now Repeat

Every day is going to bring with it ‘The worst thing I have to do today’. So, know what is going to be, plan it into your next day, and do it first.

Keep doing this for a few weeks and it will become a habit.

Sometimes, you won’t get the results you picture, and that is ok. It is not failure, it is a learning…..Failure is listening to your fears, and taking no action at all.

But you will get many results that get the outcomes you want, and that is what is going to grow yourself and your business.
